Banas Dairy in North Gujarat is not able to collect nearly 1,00,000 litres of milk daily from villages affected by covid-19 in Banaskantha district, reports Indian Express.

Banas Dairy Chairman Shankar Chaudhary says as 25 villages are affected by the virus, a huge amount of milk remains unprocured. He described his organization as Asia’s largest milk cooperative. Banas Dairy accounts for 30 percent of the total milk collected by GCMMF

Meanwhile, Managing Director of GCMMF, RS Sodhi said despite the incidence of the corona disease in some districts of the state milk procurement by Amul has remained more or less unaffected.

This is on top of an investment of €18,060 for extra soiled water storage and additional calf housing over the past ten years, based on a typical 100 cow dairy farm.
