Eight cows will be milked simultaneously within six minutes.

The milk will directly reach the storage centre without even touching the vessel. This Israeli dairy revolution will be soon introduced at the Mannuthy Veterinary University Livestock Farm.

With an Indian company setting up a state-of-the-art automatic milking parlour using Israeli technology in four months, the milking of cows that takes more than three hours will be completed in an hour and a few minutes. This automatic milking parlour will be able to ascertain the quality of the milk. It will also be able to find if a cow is sick.

After milking the cow, the cup will automatically remove from the udder. While using a standard milking machine, one will have to wash and clean the containers, vacuum pipes and cups. However, there is no container in the automatic milking parlour. The pipe and cup will clean themselves using water.

2 crore revenue

Milk worth Rs 2 crore was obtained from 100 cows in a year.

Last month, the farm created a record by producing 1,250 litres of milk per day. Sales are through farm outlets.

In the coming weeks, a significant decision awaits dairy farmers as they prepare to cast their votes on a critical package of milk marketing reforms.
