USDA announced that farm co-ops posted record sales and income in 2011.

USDA announced that farm co-ops posted record sales and income in 2011.  Net income before taxes for all agricultural co-ops was $5.4 billion, compared to the previous high of $4.9 billion in 2008.

Sales were $213 billion, which exceeded 2010 sales by more than $40 billion.  The three largest cooperatives were CHS Inc, St. Paul, MN; Dairy Farmers of America, Kansas City, MO; and Land O’ Lakes, Inc., St. Paul, MN.
