Thiruvananthapuram: Milma Chairman K S Mani informed that it has been decided to provide an incentive of Rs 1 per litre as financial support for dairy farmers who supply milk through primary groups via regional unions till March 31.

The incentive is being provided apart from Milma Gomathi Rich pellet feed getting a discount of Rs 25 for a sack and Milma Gomathi Gold a discount of Rs 70 since last December. This is the first time Milma is providing incentives through the federation.

During 2021-2022, the federation gave a total of Rs 3 crore as coupon discount for pellet feed and Rs 4.3 crore as discount in the selling price. The chairman informed that Milma is planning to distribute almost Rs 4.5 crore to dairy farmers as incentives via regional unions.

 

In the coming weeks, a significant decision awaits dairy farmers as they prepare to cast their votes on a critical package of milk marketing reforms.
