Dhaliwal, who is in Gujarat for the last three days, also met the Chairman National Dairy Development Board, besides dairy experts. He said technical support has been sought from Amul for further improving the quality of milk products in Punjab besides extending cooperation in marketing of cooperative products in international markets.
After taking a round of Amul plants, Dhaliwal said that the Punjab government would take the cooperative movement to every village so that the dairy farmers could get lucrative prices for their products. “The Amul is also like Punjab’s Verka having wider reach of its dairy and other products at foreign shores. Efforts would be made to speed up efforts to bring more dairy farmers under cooperative movement, which would certainly make this venture more profitable,” he said.
Emphasising the need to connect dairy farmers with professional skills and latest advancements, Dhaliwal said that Punjab dairy farmers would be imparted training of current techniques besides providing latest equipment at subsidised rates.
The Minister also went to the main office of the National Dairy Development Board, Amulfed, Gandhinagar, Gujarat Dairy Plant, ice cream plant, dairy plant, chocolate plant and bull breeding plant.
