The Tamilnadu Co-operative Milk Producers'' Federation, popularly known as Aavin, here on Wednesday, said its competitors and anti-social elements were spreading rumours about health of its employees.

According to Aavin, a state government enterprise, it”s false that 250 employees at its Madhavaram Dairy had contracted coronavirus. Of the 300 employees at the Madhavaram Milk Dairy, 10 had tested Covid-19 positive, it said.

Many have returned to duty after getting cured, it said and added, an operator who tested coronavirus positive a month back died.

On May 31, Aavin said it had procured 37.24 lakh litres milk and on June 2 the procurement was 24.78 lakh litres. Aavin employees were striving to deliver milk packets to every home at 5 a.m daily, it said.

This is on top of an investment of €18,060 for extra soiled water storage and additional calf housing over the past ten years, based on a typical 100 cow dairy farm.
