Fonterra Forecast Milk Down in 2024-25

Fonterra is forecasting milk will total 1,458m kg of milksolids for the new season. Fonterra expects 2023/24 collections of 1,471m kg of milksolids, according to the latest Global Dairy Update.

April milk collections were down -4.0% YOY with full seasonal production finishing –0.4% behind the season prior. April output fell -8.3% YOY on the North Island due to unfavourable weather conditions across regions with production for the season to date –3.5% behind YOY. In the South Island, April production rose +1.3% YOY due to increased use of feed and good weather with production for the season to date +4.0% ahead of YOY.
