The U.S. Dairy Export Council says a three percent rise in April dairy export volumes has brought shipments in line with year-to-date totals from 2023.

Exports of cheese spiked 27 percent in April with exports to Mexico hitting a new record high.

High-protein whey exports rose 26 percent with major demand seen from China and Brazil.

Butter rose 23 percent and low-protein whey shipments were up eight percent.

Nonfat dry milk/ skim milk powder sales were down two percent compared to last year.
